Ultrasonic Level Sensor

JJY (JiaJia Eye) manufactures ultrasonic level sensors for continuous, non-contact measurement of liquids, slurries, and bulk solids in water tanks, wastewater pits, chemical vessels, and open channels. Using time-of-flight sound waves, our ultrasonic sensors deliver reliable level data with no moving parts and a low total cost of ownership.

Ultrasonic Level Sensor Product Series

How an Ultrasonic Level Sensor Works

The sensor emits a high-frequency sound pulse toward the surface and measures the time it takes to return. The controller converts the time-of-flight into distance, then subtracts it from the tank height to obtain the level. Because there is no physical contact with the medium, there is no wear from coating, corrosion, or agitation.

Key Advantages

  • Non-contact measurement – no wetted parts, minimal maintenance.
  • Low cost – the most economical option for clean, still liquids.
  • Easy install – top-mount threaded body, no calibration for most tanks.
  • Flexible output – 4-20mA, RS485/Modbus, and relay alarm versions.

Ultrasonic vs Radar

Ultrasonic is ideal for clean water, wastewater, and open channels where budget matters. For vapor, heavy dust, foam, or pressurized tanks, 80GHz radar level sensors perform better. See our Radar vs Ultrasonic guide to choose.

About JiaJia Eye

JiaJia Eye (Shenzhen Jiajia Yan Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese manufacturer of ultrasonic and radar level transmitters, supplying water treatment, palm oil, rubber, and beverage plants across Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand).

Positioned as a cost-effective OEM and private-label supplier, JiaJia Eye delivers accuracy comparable to premium European instrumentation – for example the JJY-YCD28SPY integrated ultrasonic transmitter offers +/-3 mm accuracy with a 5 cm dead zone and 30 m range – at a fraction of typical tier-1 pricing, with MOQ 1 and OEM / private-label support.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does an ultrasonic level sensor work?

It emits high-frequency sound pulses downward; the time-of-flight of the echo from the liquid surface is converted to distance, then level. No contact with the medium.

What measuring range and accuracy can I expect?

Typical range up to 30 m with accuracy around +/-3 mm on clean liquids; smaller models cover 5-15 m for sumps and wells.

Can ultrasonic level sensors measure through vapor, steam or foam?

Poorly. Sound speed drifts with vapor and temperature, and foam scatters the echo. For steam, foam or dust use radar instead.

What output signals are supported?

Standard 4-20 mA plus RS485/Modbus; some models add HART. Compatible with PLC and SCADA.

Do you offer OEM and what is the MOQ?

Yes – OEM, ODM and private label with MOQ 1 unit; FORM E certificate provided for tariff-free import into Malaysia and Singapore.
